Cisco with its new SDA approach is on its way to automating the network. Wireless being an integral part of the set up is the key to how the future technologies would interact with the network. In this article we will start with SDA Wireless basics of how do we go about adding the WLC to DNA-C (Digital Network Architecture - Controller). 1) Discovering the WLC on DNAC i) Log into the DNAC ii) Go to DNA Center -> Discovery, Page & Create a ‘Discovery’ setting for the WLC We can do this using the CDP method or by specifying the management interface IP of the WLC as shown below and click on Start (top right column) Once the process completes, we will be able to see the screen as shown below. We can click on the 'count' next to complete to see the WLC and respective details as are discovered by the DNAC, refer to the screenshot below - When it comes to specifying the SNMP or CLI credentials, we can do it right in the discovery page or we can go to -
Design -> Network Settings -> Network and then fill in those details which we can use while doing device discovery. It is recommended not to use the 'admin' username for CLI login. The same process applies to other devices as well along with the WLC. So, thats all about discovering the WLC on the DNAC. Comments are closed.
